This is just a quick post that I'm typing from Peace Corps headquarters in Maputo. The entirety of my training class has come together this weekend for time together, and Lena and Alden's memorial service. There has been community service, people talking to us and so much support from Peace Corps staff, though I must say that the best therapy has come in the form of a yellow lab named Kenya who lives in the compound that we are staying in and loves to come up onto the porch to get love from the 45 PCVs inside.
But that is not what this blog post is about. I had a thought last night as I was falling asleep in a beautifully air conditioned room after a hot shower and chocolate chip cookies that one of the nice families in the compound had made for us: You have been hearing fairly detailed accounts of my life for the past couple months, but I have almost no idea what is happening in yours (for the most part). So, I present your first homework assignment: Send me an e-mail. Let me know what is going on in your life. How was Christmas? How is the US? I might not be able to reply due to the current internet situation, but I promise that I will read and appreciate every one.
I have to get going now, but I hope to hear from you soon!
